SOAP

Subject: Re: SOAP?

In article <3v1pop$bsn@rigel.pixi.com>, crscasio@sirius.pixi.com (Lawrence Koga) says:

Hi, I have a simple question. How do you make soap from animal fat, or vegetable oil? I know the chemistry from books, but there is no formula. I know there is a genius out there that can guide me?

I want to use this to demonstrate chemistry in action. A bomb would be more effective, but kids are easily swayed. I think soap is still spectacular.

Thank you for your attention. Remember the words of Benjamin Franklin: They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. And attend to the admonition of the rec.pyrotechnics FAQ: please read this FAQ before trying any applied pyrotechnics.
